The Secret is Out!

Word is spreading like wildfire even though we are only a few weeks into the summer!  Our campers are having such an awesome time at our new 10-acre location and state-of-the-art facility.  With swimming, Arts & Crafts, and even “Superhero Day” – our campers are having a BLAST!  The East Hampton Star recently wrote a glowing review about us, “There’s a New Camp in Town“!
The Hampton Country Day Camp’s long-awaited goal of opening a new facility on 10 acres on Buckskill Road in East Hampton has come to fruition, with approximately 300 campers romping happily through playing fields, pools, and tennis courts since the camp opened its doors on June 28…
A set of miniature tennis courts for children bookends a playground, arts and crafts center, and hockey rink. A sports court is “turned into the Long Island Expressway” with a sea of plastic cars that children drive around in during playtime, said Ms. Rosen. And the camp has what “may well be the largest sandbox on the Eastern Seaboard,” she said.
On the other side of the property, two huge swimming pools were nearly overflowing with kids, counselors, and Styrofoam noodles, while another group of children played a water balloon game on the lawn. One of the most popular activities is Ga-Ga, an Israeli dodgeball game played in a sand pit that has an octagonal shape.
Outreach to the community has been woven into the fabric of the camp, as families of campers recently donated a large amount of food to the East Hampton Food Pantry, and a group of over a dozen counselors volunteered to run games and activities at a fund-raiser for cystic fibrosis research in Bridgehampton.
